Six Australian one-act plays, by Louis Esson and others (Sydney, Mulga Publications, 1944). Enclosed are two undated letters from Esson, one to the writer William Moore, principally about his own work, and the other to the poet John Le Gay Brereton, mainly discussing Shakespeare.

Poet, academic, librarian. Brereton was Librarian of the University of Sydney (1902-21) and Professor of English Literature (1921-33). Esson, Louis, 1879-1943

Born in Edinburgh 1879, he was educated in Melbourne. During a visit to Europe he became friends with the Irish playwrights including Yeats and Synge. He turned to journalism.
